The Mocha Master was recommended to me by a friend.Apparently none of that matters.I purchased this to replace my Bonavita BV1800TH which served me faithfully for 6yrs & 3 months.I drink at least 3-4 cups of coffee a day and have become a bit of a connoisseur. We had a Capresso that lasted eight years before several parts gave out. When I first received the Moccamaster and set it up, I was actually disappointed., but… putting this thing together was not pleasant and felt like I was assembling a badly designed LEGO product. Then we tried a Keurig, with Kirkland brand Pacific Bold k-cups.All things superior take effort and knowledge. We set out to find a one-touch coffee maker that works as flawlessly with a wifi plug as the velvety, smooth taste of the brew it produces.Well, I only use a coffee machine for entertaining, not every day.I no longer get coffee from the local or chain coffee shops, and have saved a lot of money. After I got the dreaded death error code I was in the market for a new machine. When you close the basket after making coffee in order to remove the carafe and you forget to open it the next time you are making coffee, you will have a huge mess at your hand.I am a strong coffee lover and I spent a great deal of time researching coffee makers before deciding on the Moccamaster. Not Good. This coffeemaker fits the bill.First is the water tank lid and the brew basket lid.No timers, clocks, heating elements that scorch your coffee, or any other extraneous features. It appears the heating element has stopped working.
In trying to splurge on a good coffee pot, I feel like each one I have gotten comes with a lot of bells and whistles that ultimately break. This was my dream coffee maker for years. When I travel, I can’t wait to get home to get my coffee." Learning that Sweet Maria’s, my most dependable coffee bean purveyor, does their coffee bean evaluations using a Technivorm and that Cooks Magazine rated it the best coffee maker and also uses it in their test kitchen, convinced me to pop for this pricey machine.Where I find it coming up short is in build quality. It has been well worth it.During that time, it has consistently day after day made great coffee. Why not leave it alone while brewing ?Can’t, unless you want the filter to overflow.I had very high expectations for this machine, but it didn’t really deliver a significantly better cup of coffee. The Technivorm does sacrifice a bit of practicality for design aesthetic and maybe a little cost savings .The carafe does not keep the coffee as hot or warm as I would like .An expensive machine, loved the coffee it made but very disappointed in durability. The water goes into the coffee grounds so fast it makes a tunnel through them, so it can’t be getting the most flavor from the coffee.I use 6 level spoon scoops per liter of water and get a great pot of coffee every single time.We roast and grind our own coffee beans. This machine consistently produces poor coffee regardles of the variables.I bought this junk for 309 US dollars.Half a pot in under 5 minutes.00-$200.It is also fast.
For the price, it surely should!Problems: The spray head doesn’t fully saturate the grounds. The coffee is delicious and I am very thankful that I have it everyday while trapped working from home.Grinds not equally saturated.A year ago, my son bought a Moccamaster and I was astonished at the delicious, bold but silky brew this device produced. But that’s where my love of the Moccamaster ends. The coffee basket is flimsy but has no bearing on the delicious, hot coffee the machine produces. My experience so far was that a strong cup of coffee was also bitter.I am a coffee loverAnd this is by far the most expensiveI, inadequate, Culbersome Machine Invented Without Ever having someoneTry it out Because it is sincerely flawed n many ways.My older Ninja Coffee Bar IQ brewed a better cup because of its tech. There really is a difference in the brew temp or other magic with these.Lots of plastic here. Both carafe caps are difficult – and requiring a MUST changeover from brewing is a pain. Not fancy, just gets the water really hot.It still looks great and very new except for that above mentioned shower arm.So very flavorful and I love the techno design. No frills. Not to mention it’s pricy and would the negatives that I read about be ok .I also bought a Bodium Bistro Burr Grinder.I have found that 6 scoops of coffee beans to the 8-cup water mark on the coffee brewer is just right! This makes excellent coffee with absolutely no bitterness.I have an Aero Press, I have a few funnels for drip, I have a stove top espresso machine and wore out a low priced counter top espresso maker, ,also two grinders.
