When I say great coffee, I mean the kind of coffee you would expect and get from your favorite local coffee roaster/café or quality coffee shop .The plastic cover for the carafe falls off when I turn up to pour the old coffee out, just poor construction.I feel like this is a real life example of “The Emperor’s New Clothes”, many people have spent a good deal of money to own this coffee maker and now are embarrassed to really let others know it’s not the coffee maker we all hoped for.It looks beautiful and cool sitting on the countertop. And two days later, I understood why.I’ve stopped using it and gone back to another brand.I just got tired of spending $40+ every 18 months to buy a new coffee maker so I decided to try and find something with replaceable parts. On first use, we noticed that it is impossible to easily pull the carafe out of the front of the unit as is only natural. So I will update this again when the issue is resolved. So HAPPY that I did.Cuisinart for years now. It’s so easy to use, and clean up is simple. They all have broken in a short time, make poor quality coffee, or both. They did not consider this covered by warranty and stated that it was accidental damage. If I hadn’t had Christmas money to splurge with, I’m not sure I would have spent this much money on a coffeemaker, but I’m glad I did.And it’s nicely compact.I don’t mean to undermine a machine, but to share with people whom I might have an acquaintance with about coffee. It’s hand made in the Netherlands, but is marked with a sticker as tested before it even gets to you.Thin flimsy plastic, thin carafe glass. If they reviewed coffee makers I read them.

That said, you’re looking at drip brewers or you wouldn’t be reading this review, so let’s get to it…-Pros: quality copper heating element, sturdy build quality, modular design with replaceable parts, solid warranty and customer service States-side, fast brew times, beautiful bloom with consistent brew and taste quality, auto shut-off after 100 minutes in case you forget to switch it off.I expected more from such a price, my mistake. If you’re satisfied with a cup of coffee from the convenience store while getting a tank of gas, then you’d be better off getting a $30 Mr Coffee from Walmart.Other than the metal base of the machine, everything else feels really cheap. While I love a good pour over , I kept find myself struggling to assess the quality of my roasts.Whether or not it happens is dependent on several other factors. The hunt was on for a better coffee maker and the Moccamaster appeared to be the best choice given we didn’t need any fancy electronics and just wanted a filter coffee maker where we ground our own beans. It has an interesting Euro-design aesthetic.5 hours in line waiting at Kohls Customer Service to drop off the return. It took me a long time to get the coffee to water ratio right on this machine. Its perfection is in its simplicity… no unnecessary gadgetry or gimmicks… just 2 switches , a copper heating element, replaceable parts, and the best tasting coffee you’ve ever had.But we lost that one in a small house fire.Received my Moccacaster and cleaned all of the cleanable parts.I don’t need extra fancy buttons but a good cup of coffee in the morning. This thing is the poorest excuse for a user friendly machine i’ve ever seen.I have tried percolators, French Press, cold extraction, $4k+ espresso machines, pour over, and on and on.Like the other 1 star reviewer stated, I researched for 4 weeks before buying a new coffee pot.The coffee is the smoothest I’ve ever made.I’ll have to say I’m a little disappointed in the quality of the plastic pieces.I really appreciate that I can choose to leave the hotplate on or off and on high or low.

Too much plastic, I was hoping the water basin was glass but its plasticIts fairly fast but nothing extraordinary, the color is nice, it popsif you want a ‘piece’ for your counter than this is it,but you could probably spend 1/3 of the price and get the same cup of coffee The machine looks very nice and is easy to assemble, operate and clean.I was so impressed by the company’s knowledge of the brewers and coffee in general. After a few weeks, I’ll give an update on how it’s been going. The distinction I think is important because it addresses many aspects of some negative reviews.I’ve owned and used everything from stovetop percolators, various mr coffee type machines, French presses and later k pod brewers. All of the wholes for dispersing water do disperse, but the water streams together and drips into the coffee in one single spot which defeats the whole purpose.I was highly skeptical of this product. The Moccamaster lasted less that 8 months and refused to power on.Although the Braun wasn’t broken it just didn’t brew at a hot enough temperature. The reason for the lack of 5 star rating is due to some design elements that fortunately do not negatively impact the actual coffee or the steps to make it.00 price tag.And most important, it brews delicious coffee every time! Now that I’ve had the Moccamaster for several months I wanted to comment on some of the reviews I read before buying the product. It is a simple and logical design that makes a great cup of coffee.Don’t get taken in by it.This coffeemaker hits all three of those requirements.I bought this maker because after reading reviews of all the other reasonable coffee makers, I found on all to many negative reviews.not sure if they don’t purge/clean their boiler before shipment, but coffee is extraordinarily bitter if you use their ratios. And should one of the pieces break, you can easily replace it without buying “yet another coffee maker”.Now granted, I usually make a pour-over because I am the only one who drinks coffee at my house.
