If you prefer a summary, see section marked THE BOTTOM LINE————————————–When I sent for this, I had no idea how much fun we were going to have with this. Now I admit, I love kitchen gadgets so I am the perfect person to write a review. However, this Ninja coffee maker I bought a while ago is worth.I have ended my search with this machine. The simplicity, flavor, texture, versatility are unbelievable. This is by any measure an exceptional means to make a cuppa, but if like myself you’re the opposite of a morning person the effort required is not insignificant. However, if I brew without the Lid directly into the cup, the taste is pure coffee. This coffee maker is AMAZING.It has all the bells and whistles that you could ever need or want. But I’m confident in saying that this is the first all-in-one that matches the taste and quality of Starbucks, which I’m embarrassed to say we still go to way more than we should. The steel pot keeps it warm for a good amount of time, but if you like your coffee hot and not warm, a plate would help.I use the cold brew feature every day and I’m very impressed.Cons are not so, but very few :The Short Version:1) Big scoop = 2 Tablespoons Small scoop = 1 Tablespoon 2) Carafe says it is hand-wash only. It’s easy to use and pre-program for morning brews..We love the different filters for coffee and tea.Tried to run the 2 priming cycles that it wants you to run before use but an error came up “CnCL.However, I feel that the filter changes the taste of the coffee and once I tasted coffee without a filter, I quit using one.At the time the milk frother was a bonus. It is a jack of all trades and master of none.
I didn’t know that the one with the thermal carafe does not have a hot plate.I can not say enough about this machine and its ease of use and more importantly ease of clean up.Thought I would purchase the newer version so I could make tea as well.It won’t work..You need a bottle scrubber to clean the carafe, because it says do not put in the dishwasher. But I have to say this is the first that I can think of where the pot / carafe has no “V” formed in the carafe to assist with pouring the coffee! Being round with no “V” causes the pot to drip no matter how empty/full it is or how slow/fast you attempt to pour…you’re going to drip MORE than a pot that has a “V”.The biggest problem with coffee is the carafe. We switched over from a Keurig coffee maker that allowed for individual servings using your own ground coffee. This brewer is an overpriced toy.Makes great coffee and tea with a selection of brew amounts.I am a “Starbucks before I start the day” kind of person… so if it’s the price that scares you just remember that in a couple months it will basically pay for itself. We decided to get this one instead because the glass carafe on the other model seemed to be thin and fragile, and we just knew at some point it would get broken or chipped.Pro: The carafe is a very nice stainless steel.I no longer need to go to the coffee shop to get my fix… I’ve got it right in my own kitchen and it tastes much better! It takes a while to get the settings and amount dialed in to your tastes as well as the brand of coffee that works best for you but once you do it’s one of life’s simple pleasures that just set’s your world right, gives you that little smile and that audible “ahhhh” after the first sip in the morning.I use freshly-ground Starbucks coffee – and it comes out so smooth and creamy.I’m returning it and getting the model with the glass carafe and burner.I wanted to use this for several days before writing my review. We aren’t coffee snobs but enjoy a good cup that isn’t so bitter. And I did a side by side comparison – two small scoops is exactly the same size as one K-cup, so we haven’t changed the amount of grounds we’re using, by much, which is great.
My husband makes the coffee, I usually wake up 1 – 1 1/2 hours later. However your coffee will fill into a metal caraf that is cold resulting in a luke warm cup of coffee. There are 2 versions. It makes a variety of sizes. But after using it for over a month now and trying several specialty recipes, I’m very impressed. No matter how long you soak or wash it.I’m preparing to return this, and would advise anyone considering to reconsider as it can’t possibly be safe. The multi option for sizes is awesome.I called Ninja customer support and they sent us out a new base but for a $20 “shipping fee.So there was no descaling to be done.well, top of the line.Instead of buying the same brand, I decided to take a chance with the Ninja line of coffee makers.I don’t know why it’s so much better with this machine but it is – I tried it at someone else’s house first and liked it so much I got my own. Then suddenly it stopped working.I will update this after a couple weeks of usage.Between the 2 of us we use it 4-6 times a day.My wife and I can’t get past how quickly the coffee gets lukewarm. This coffee maker doesn’t do k-cups but does do individual cups of coffee and it’s great because you can do a small cup or a larger cup or an even larger stainless steel bottle. Now, after a year, it leaks to the point where I am considering no longer using it.OK, we’re Coffee Snobs.
