From 2-8 cups. The machine measures the water for each cup setting, so water can accumulate in the tank from day to day.The first unit I purchased began leaking through the base within a few months.I have been searching the internet and trying to get ahold of Kitchenaide’s customer service to find a replacement for it.In my house that is like 2 years for most.So I have a very expensive piece of junk on the kitchen counter. We have had this item since June 2016 (just over 1.I did find that the brew menu specifying the number of cups to fluctuate in actual number of cups brewed, but filling the heating tank with the number of cups I want brewed, as you do with all drip machines, and setting the menu to more cups than filled, gives the number of cups I want brewed. The KitchenAid Pour Over Brewer seemed like the best blend between pour over style but an automatic machine. One peculiarity I’d like to point out though is that the Cup setting doesn’t work quite as I expected it would. This is perhaps the best coffee I have ever had. This does live up to it’s promise of the pour over method and with quality coffee you can definitely taste the difference. The very unique size of this one makes it nearly impossible to replace. The coffee was good tasting and I loved the timer so I could set it to wake up to the smell of coffee.cups is the size of my mug), fill it with water for 3 cups, and it brews 1.Pros: most attractive of the SCAA brewers. Both stopped working properly after about a year. Also, after 1 week, the shower started leaking. It’s pretty. It was a gift.
Simulates the pour over process well!Overall satisfied due to the quality of the coffee.I don’t normally leave reviews but I felt I should share this one.I have learned that there are so many important steps in making a great cup of coffee and the brewer is what brings the steps together and puts out the finished product. He loves a well brewed cup from a coffee press and won’t even drink diner coffee.Got this automatic machine with hot plate for when I want more than 2 cups or have guests. One nice beep.I am not unhappy however, as I now have a good reason to get a new machine that works better than this one,Pros:Makes good coffee in a few minutesProgrammable for early AM auto-startCarafe can be taken away mid-brew without spilling on hot plateCons:Nearly impossible to fill the top water opening without spilling water all overCarafe shape makes it difficult not to spill coffee when pouring — always wiping up coffee!Control buttons designed by the aesthetics people, not the functionality people — small, hard-to-read screen makes it worseCleaning instructions are hard to understand and the CLEAN ME light does not go out if you do clean it, over and over againCoffee basket is not a good fit for the paper filters that "match", so they sometimes slip to the side, spilling grounds into the new coffee the first time i washed the carafe, the fake chrome strip on the handle fell off and refuses to stay attached.I would not buy it.It looks good and also makes a great pot of coffee. The silver is beautiful and sturdy.But….Some of the lettering on the buttons has worn off already.Comes close to the Technivorm drip machine in flavor and temperature.I had to have red because it goes with my kitchen and it is very stylish.First, it’s great. The brewing is noisy and my dog doesn’t seem to like that…probably because it 4:29 am and it wakes him up.My only complaint is the warmer shuts off in an hour.No dropping, misuse, damage to product….
Long story short, I will be getting a different one, because:1) The flavor leaves much to be desired. Two drawbacks – the view window that shows how much water is in it is very difficult to read, and sometimes it doesn’t register the water unless you tap the side.Too expensive to be dying so quickly! Very poor craftsmanship. I really wanted to love this like I do other KitchenAid appliances! Just not feeling it.It is INSANELY loud and you cannot disable the beeper. However don’t be misled by the picture.I had to use the clean feature to empty the tank daily.Coating on the warning plate and the words on the buttons.Yes my coffee tastes good.Creating other issues in the kitchen.I was surprised how many people seemed to be disappointed. When it was working, it only kept my coffee warm for about an hour.Had no problems pouring water into tank.I totally recommend this coffee maker. He loves it as well but we both feel the pot is not easy to clean because it does not appear that the lid can be removed for cleaning and we are both afraid of breaking it in the process.I have ordered another brand to replace this one with less than a year of use. This might be my 2nd ever written.
