I ordered this thinking it would be fine for a week.I have a large Keurig brewing system, but it was taking up precious counter space in my kitchen. It is used lightly so we did not want the internal tank as is in other Kcup machines that can develop mold if left to sit unused for long periods.Tried a dozen different brands of cups. When I saw this one I was intrigued. However the taste is great, the brew temperature is on point and it’s size is easy to incorporate into my packed counter space. We had to clean it from time to time like the lid of the water reservoir said to do, but it worked for several months. This Hamilton Beach is great. It has failed in the same manner as the first one, just took a few months longer. At first, I thought maybe it was clogged but I don’t actually use it often – cleaned it and there was no clog.I was dreading trying to clean it until I watched the short video and saw how easy it is to remove and clean the part that punches the hole in the K-cup.The flavor of my coffee was great, and the temperature is very very hot.I don’t like spending a lot of money on them because I’ve never had one last a whole year..I glanced at the reviews and saw 4 stars average and I said to myself what a deal. The typical Keurig machines seem more complicated than a brewer needs to be.I’m particular about my coffee, usually using freshly ground beans with a pour-over filter and pitcher.2/11/2020 Update.Coffee either takes forever to heat up and pour into the cup, or it fills up about 1/4 of what it is supposed to and then stops.Today, Aug 11, the pot stopped working.
I really can’t afford a Keurig – so I purchased this little gem and I couldn’t be happier with it..(I first bought the Sboly, which made me appreciate this model all the more-my Solby review is at the bottom.Put a cup of water in the machine, put either a K-Cup or any ground coffee/tea, and press the regular or bold button. This is my second FlexBrew from Hamilton Beach.Easy and convenient to clean.I’m glad I did.It comes with a kcup adapter, a normal coffee ground filter, and a removable mug stand.I like this because the unused water is not sitting in the coffee maker water tank for days or weeks. The coffee is not hot enough for my taste and without paper filters the coffee runs through too fast and is weak. The comparison between the two surprised me.Device will eventually make a half cup of coffee through touching the button through 3-4 cycles, makes a lot of noise but doesn’t really push much product out.I have no problem with that.It is true that one must add water for every cup, but it works like a charm, the coffee is brewed in 3 minutes, it has a bold setting, and our two cups of coffee are in our hands in under ten minutes. Is very user friendly for my Dad , simple and straightforward…so he is very pleased for having a piping hot cup of coffee !!! I had a Starbucks Versmio for a long time. It’s small and compact as is the larger model. My only complaint about it would be that it seems to take a lot longer than the old one to make one cup of coffee. Most require that you purchase their pods and a pod is $1.
I have bought one of these, the first failed after three weeks. The start button pushed inside after about 4 years.I wasn’t sure about this at first because I’ve always had Keurig coffee makers. The machine is clunkier then it needs to be, and I am so glad that I’m able to return it after using it for a few weeks. This single machine is not the same quality as the Flex Brew, it has been defective since the first use. What a waste of $.I’ve had good experience with HB.What I didn’t love was that you cannot just fill the tank for the morning and push a button to pick the size cup you wanted……However much water you put in the tank is all brewed into that one cup.The product description indicated 8" clearance, which was consistent with info on the Hamilton Beach web site.Product worked great and made good coffee, but after 6 months it stopped working.Checking what was available I came across this one.Honestly, we went out to get a replacement and wound up getting a $20 Mainstay pod/brewed coffee maker sold by Walmart as a temporary coffee maker and not only was it a third of the price of the Hamilton Beach it makes fantastic coffee ! we’re coming up on a year of usage and no problems. Please see below for some notes, I wont call them pros and cons because, again, the price was right:– Small footprint, fits nicely on corner of my desk and doesnt take up much space– Takes a while to heat up and brew– Doesn’t necessarily use all of the water you pour into it.Only complaint we had it takes a little long to make your cup of coffee and it comes out super hot lol but it makes really great tasting coffee. For me, the coffee maker brews how much water you put in it each time and with consistent flavor.I haven’t used the drip brew function yet, though.Pros: not huge so good on my counter. Those pods make my day start off well and are very convenient. And it makes coffee using pods. They did just that….
