Very suddenly.-The stainless steel carafe holds 25 oz.This makes the exact amount of cups it states if you know what a cup is.My thinking was that I could never get distracted and forget to turn the thing off.I like mine, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do.But this really happened! In my case, this coffee maker had a special spot waiting for it on a microwave stand with fake wood grain on top – fake wood grain that, in my opinion, has so far stood the test of time .I bought the version with the stainless steel pot.No help.I had a rather expensive Keurig that decided to die on me and so decided that I was just going to go back to a regular coffee maker since I drink coffee like the dickens.I have had NO dripping at all.I decided to downsize from my tried and true Brew Station since I am the only coffee drinker in my house.Light should have been in front. In testing it, I found it does indeed – I have a YETI mug, and it brews enough to fill about 1 3/4 mugs, so almost but not quite 2 cups of coffee in the morning.-Water stays collected in the top drip spout located above the filter holder. My requirements – a non-glass carafe, cone filter, and a cup and a refill for my mug.Likewise, pouring coffee almost always drips down the side of the pot and onto the counter. We were extremely pleased with how perfectly this worked, and how great the metal coffee pot was for travel, as opposed to glass. The grounds basket does not come out to be cleaned, the entire door has to come off.We had read reviews about the carafe leaking a lot when pouring coffee. And easy on my arthritis hand’s.

My wife makes Gevalia if she is making the first pot.I decided to give this one a try because it has a metal carafe.I felt like I was adding more coffee grounds than necessary for the amount of water I would add.It makes about 2 and a half.I bought this one and a 12-cup for my neighbor with the same filter configuration. On my first use, the carafe leaked at welded the seam located behind the handle. But it is the perfect size since only my husband drinks coffee and I feel like there is less waste than when we had the 8-12 cup coffee maker. This coffee maker has been disappointment after disappointment. Not the case.Save the money and buy the one with the glass carafe.I migrated from K-Cups over to this and am most happy I did.It does not have automatic shut off which I didn’t realize when I purchased it but have since come to like because it keeps my coffee warm for hours.I like the fact that you can make up to 5 cups of coffee, but the carafe is made of very thin glass, and the carafe lid is a bit difficult to click back in place. Also something note that the base heater is already starting to stain and looks almost like its effecting the black covering over the heating plate.Much better flavor than the Mr.However, #2 paper filters just barely fit.My coffee filter holder door hinge was slightly bent , which means that when I open the filter holder door to change filters if the glass carafe is underneath the filter door, the door will knock over the carafe which at the moment is a tough item to replace and cost just about as much as the cheap coffee machine..This coffee maker just does not pour well most of the coffee pours out onto the counter. The pot holds 24 ounces of fluid … by definition, 1 cup is 8 ounces … this is, at best, a 3 cup coffee maker.

in my case I bought the one in the stainless steel cup but the bottom plate is made of very fine cheap metal and with the humidity it deteriorates and corrodes, making the machine go bad. But, this is a very small little door .Small unbleached basket filters are nigh impossible to find, but unbleached #2 cone filters are pretty readily available.I would not recommend this coffee maker with the stainless pot, get the glass.Small on the counter too. It’s a mediocre product.Amazon featured a cone that they stayed “frequently bought together” but it is a size #4 cone. The steel carafe is NOT a thermos style carafe, which was a mistaken assumption upon my part. The coffee maker makes good coffee though, and I haven’t broken the carafe but a bit more testing and design work on the pour spout could have made a big difference. Opened it up and was disapointed. It’s now August 2020 and it died.I own a motel and have replaced all of our glass coffee makers with these! I bought this because the 5-cup size is just right for me and I really liked my previous Hamilton-Beach 5-cupper.Turns out that this one leaks, too, only much worse.[/review6]<!– .00 I expected a better quality at least the mug.I had the original for many years abused it to no end by leaving it on sometimes for days and it was still working when I bought the new one.
