But even on the lowest setting for the heating element, the coffee gets too hot and ruins the flavor, so I resorted to pouring the newly brewed coffee into a stainless steel thermos.Real bad design and not thought out.I have had this coffee maker for maybe two years .It would be nice if the number level changed colors to show if your at the right level. The thermal makes nice hot coffee, I just find it doesn’t stay hot for long in the cup as the Glass carafe however, I like to make a pot and drink it throughout the day and and it stays hot for a long time in the thermal craft and the glass carafe tends to burn the coffee if you keep it on for a long time, love Cuisinart, worth a few extra bucks I’ve recently redecorated my kitchen to a red theme, but am stumped about my coffee maker. If I only want to make 4 or 6 cups, I need to use a small flashlight to be sure the water has risen to the right number. You don’t get the gold filter included, and the warranty is shortened to 90 days, but my experience with refurbs is that they’re as good as new, and the savings make up for the fact if they’re not. There should be a clear window where you can see the water level. It is the best Coffee Maker unit that I have ever owned.I convinced my mom to buy one that she’s had about a decade.Weirdest is that the water level is not visible from the outside, so you need a flashlight to see down a dark tunnel to determine the water level.Water streams down the back of the coffee maker when the lid is raised.I liked it so much I bought it again when my old one died after several years of use This is my second coffee pot exactly like this and I love the simplicity and no fuss look. The water didn’t get hot enough to brew the coffee very well.I’ve had my Cuisinart DCC-1400 since around 2006, I use it nearly every day and it continues to work really well. The location where you put the water is way in back & so small that you tend to pour out much of the water for your next pot all over the counter.

The location where you put the water is way in back & so small that you tend to pour out much of the water for your next pot all over the counter.Burner turns off after brew! ?????.. leaks The first one lasted ten years.Stainless steel is a fresh modern vibe, easy on the eye, looks lovely on countertop or in cabinet Makes the best tasting coffee. Easy to set clock and timer.I do pour hot water in the thermos before starting to make my coffee. Also, the first pot tasted like salt water so I descaled it but this is another indicator it was not “hardly used.My first one lasted 8 years. It has been a good investment for us.I’ve done a lot of shopping to replace my coffee maker and I found it in my Cuisinart Thermal Coffee Maker. The first lasted 4 yrs and still worked ok but tthe carafe fell on the floor and broke the handle so bought a fresh one.The first one lasted about 5 years. When it gave out, we went with the thermal carafe.

The coffee that is not hot enough to burn your lip which I like.It works great, love the gold coffee filter, lets us know when it needs cleaned , carafe keeps coffee warm for hours, but we drink it so fast hardly stays in there that long. It’s water. Love that is coffee maker is programable and has a thermal pot.Makes the best coffee ever! And love the fact you don’t have to worry about turning it it.The heating element turns off afyer brewing and the coffee that was not even hot enough to begin with is only luke warm in less than an hour.entry-content –><!– .It is easy to program with a rarity these days: easy to follow instructions.Keeps coffee hot? NOPE—I’ve had my first and last thermal coffee maker.
