I am what people describe as a “coffee snob. The Cuisinart carafe doesn’t dribble at all when poring either.Coffee I know well, and the brewing systems that go behind them also.Made great tasting coffee.I need not have worried – this baby makes awesome coffee.Depending on the bean I get, a slight tweak is required–slightly finer grind in some cases, slightly coarser grind in other cases.I saw a handful of reviews where people mentioned that the display eventually dims and shrugged it off as a fluke or not being super important.LOVE IT! The taste is really great. After six months the brewer would beep after two minutes and stop brewing.M.I started my journey with some crappy hand grinders and pour over cones. The coffeemaker is deficient in heating coffee according to the “very hot” selection because I always need to heat my coffee in the microwave to get it warm enough. But the display kept getting dimmer and dimmer over time until you could not read the time on the clock.Time doesn’t show anymore either. It wasn’t even on my radar at first, but after being disappointed by the other machines, I decided to give it a try.Well, this was strange, did 4 cups evaporate during brewing? Eventually I learned that it didn’t.After researching several models, each with their benefits, I purchased this because it had several items I wanted that all of the others did not have completely: price, blooming feature, timer brew, etc were among them.Plus there is not a way to tell how much coffee is left in the pot.I first tried the Breville Precision for $300 and the coffee was DISGUSTING, not to mention the thermal carafe was hard to clean. This model has been a huge disappointment.

It’s easy to use, looks fine, and makes a consistently good batch of coffee once you get everything dialed in.This one, I made a pot at 6 am first cup ok, cup at 7:19 barely melted my sugar.First I tried the newer Breville ups the speed of the brewing cycle and produces very acidic coffee, then the Cuisinart Grind & Brew DGB-900 which gave me a carafe full of grounds if I brewed more than six cups and made mediocre coffee, then the Kitchen Aid Pour Over which died on third use.Upon receiving, I thoroughly washed the pieces as instructed, and ran a clean cycle with about 2c of white vinegar with 6c of water, followed by 2 normal cycles of plain filtered water.I am not an expert by any means, but I have tried out at least a dozen coffee machines looking for one that I like well enough to buy 12 more of them .After using this for several weekends I’ve discovered that it’s an okay coffee maker.I’ve been using this for several months now, trying the different settings, and I can’t say that it brews a cup of coffee any better or worse than any other unit I have used.I’m very satisfied with this purchase of this coffee maker.See – I am a chemist. But, a Chemex is also quite a bit more work which is not what I want to be doing first thing in the morning.I didn’t want to spend 300 dollars for a Techivorm Moccamaster, so in my research I came across the cuisinart cpo-800.The reason I bought this was for the carafe because I hate burnt coffee. One of my best friends introduced me to pour over coffee but I’m entirely too lazy to go through that process every morning, especially when I’m just rolling out of bed and need caffeine immediately.service and after asking for my serial number, and date of purchases the replaced the unit and i didn’t even have to send the old one back. Then I started have issues with the descaling feature, even just a day after descaling the unit.WHEN I CALLED THE COMPANY THEY JUST SENT ME A NEW ONE WITH INSTRUCTIONS FOR RETURNING MY DEFECTIVE MACHINE.The display was bright and easily readable when I first got it and is now barely readable in a dark part of a room.Don’t listen to the bad reviews for this coffee maker! There will always be random bad experiences.Makes great coffee fast and hot. This thing makes good, flavorful coffee and is easy to use when my brain is still dumb because I haven’t had my coffee yet.

CYBVSS says:

Cuisinart customer service is a joke, and when the maker did work, I would hardly describe the product as "pour-over," quality. It is also easy to clean by running a cycle of white vinegar through. It’s perfect. It wasn’t until about 8 years ago, someone had me try pour-over from a place in Portland.Had been using a “Details by Mr.Now that I have one, it’s clear that the water isn’t getting hot enough to bring out flavor of the coffee.I landed on this bad boy and this machine is fantastic.Does the hot plate rust? Yes.I’m using the same fresh ground coffee I always have, but the flavor is better and the coffee is hotter. It’s just so much fun doing a manual pour-over that I think it makes it taste better, but I digress.I bought it in September so it’s not returnable anymore.I used french press and my Hubby drank the Auto stuff. And the flavor really benefits from it.The stainless steel exterior looks nice when new but is seriously degrading and is impossible to clean without leaving unsightly marks in the finish. This is trash.I made a pot at 9am and drank one cup, then forgot about the rest.I love the coffee, everything about the coffee – taste is exceptional, temp perfect, etc but the carafe leaks between the black plastic and stainless steel after washing.Clean cycle works well and doesn’t seem to need much cleaning. There are some good things to say about this machine.I thought that was the method that makes the best flavored brew coffee, but the problem is that it’s not easy to make early in the morning on my way to work – much easier to set the timer on my old drip machine, pour the coffee into a travel mug, and run out the door.
