5 YEAR UPDATE: The carafe leaks everywhere.I decided to do the quickest fix and ordered 2 replacement filters on December 2nd.Now that I’ve tried it, I’m with other reviewers who’ve said “Adios forever, K-cups, and good riddance.Irioi was going to go with the Technivorm Moccamaster but the one I wanted didn’t do a half pot so I chose this one. They are reliable and well built. It’s more than lukewarm, but once you’ve added cream, you’re close. As with all my other Breville products, this one continues the level of quality I have come to enjoy. We followed the necessary maintenance and on 2019 Thanksgiving morning, it’s only brewed a half a pot.You need to buy it for $50.reservoir lid is fragile.I love a great cup of coffee and I’m particular about the grounds, strength and taste.2) I read other reviews saying that this machine is loud. The brewer does not disappoint. Our requirements were SCA certification, single cup capability, and greater than 8 cup multi-cup capability. The only reason I have not given it five stars is because it is still new, and I do not yet know how well the coffee maker will endure daily use in the long-haul.It’s well made, heavy metal, good weight; but it fails to live up to the hype.I was hoping that for that price, it would also wash, dry and fold my laundry, but no such luck. Also, because the carafe is solid you really can’t tell how much water you are getting when you go to make coffee.I contacted Breville for repair and they said they would send me a new one.My old Mr.

I purchased because of the advertised features and thought I could get some benefit from them.Happens daily when you brew 40oz or a full carafe. So far, flavor extraction and bloom time are spot on.Initial setting you are supposed to do a litmus-type test to determine how hard your water is and then set it accordingly.and the Cuisinart CPO-850 which is about $100 less.Everything we read online said it just needed to be tightened.1.No coupons or discounts allowed. After reading multiple articles on Coffee Expert’s top SCAA Gold coffee makers. This is going to be lengthy review, but I really had to dig deep to decide to spend $300 on a coffee maker and wanted to weigh my options with you.Less than 2 months in and it quit working. The controls on the machine feel flimsy but do the job as advertised.I was skeptical, researching higher end coffee makers proved difficult, lots of mixed reviews and complaints.Constantly throwing away pot after pot of Peets great coffee along with water I have to buy for this machine.Used my Baratza burr grinder and from the very first cup, made one of the best tasting cups of coffee just a Grind, Water, Pour…the Settings are Bewildering, but fun to achieve your perfect brew. You can actually set your own bloom time, speed in which the water is dispensed and temperature under “my brew”, which we love.Yes, it’s easy to use.I do not want it to taste burnt, or bitter or watery.

Coming from a Cuisinart to this was a night and day difference.Use the included cone insert and your favorite cone filters and you’ll be right on the money. To my shock and surprise, this high end coffee brewer leaves approximately 1 inch of standing water in the water tank at the end of the cycle. This is simply the best drip coffee maker I’ve ever experienced, much less owned myself. The coffee does in fact taste better then our previous coffee makers.I replaced a Capresso brewer that I owned for 10 years and I think the coffee this brews is at least up to the standard of the Capresso.I wanted something that would last and make good coffee at a semi-reasonable price. One bigger disappointment is the coffee is not hot enough for me and I don’t find the steel carafe holds the heat long enough.Period.It is easy to use, but I would recommend running through the instructions for the different settings, etc.Coffee machine died and all I was looking for was a brewer with a thermal carafe. As per Mfg.Cons: the flat bottom of the reservoir means it stops pumping with a film of water at the bottom, which pools up and causes condensation. My Keurig sits a few feet away, with very little to do.First one was defective, timer didn’t work and reservoir would indicate it was empty when it was full, and we’d have to drain it and refill it to get it to work.It takes a little more coffee than our old Mr.When the pump died recently, there was no shopping around other than to order another one.A coffee pot that costs nearly $300 aught to work for several years without problem. The flavor and temperature of the coffee was great, even when using subpar coffee. It makes great coffee.
